Glossary
This glossary favors precise protocol meaning over broad industry definitions. If a term has a narrower meaning in PressChain, the narrower meaning is documented here.Active bond
A role bond currently satisfying the protocol requirement for an action that demands bonded participation. Role existence and active bond state should be checked separately.Action policy
The V3 rule set that describes an operation’s economic class, role eligibility, bond requirements and other authorization constraints.Authority
The canonical source that determines the meaning or valid configuration of protocol state. V3 authority files outrank stale client constants and archived design documents.Bond
PRESS committed to satisfy an eligibility or accountability requirement. A bond is different from a protocol fee and different from network gas.Capsule
The canonical PressChain publication record. A Capsule uses abytes32 identifier and anchors author, outlet, content hash, metadata hash, status, timestamps and revision context.
Canonical metadata
Normalized metadata serialized according to a defined schema so independent implementations can produce the same bytes and hash.Community evidence
Evidence submitted through the broad participation path by an authenticated PressKey identity, subject to economic, validation, quota and anti-abuse rules.Content hash
A cryptographic commitment to the exact canonical bytes of an artifact. A matching hash proves integrity relative to the commitment, not factual truth.Contributor
A wallet attached to one Capsule with contributor role, contribution type, share basis points, attribution URI and active state.Dispute evidence
Evidence submitted through the dedicated challenge path. Current V3 evidence source reserves type255 for dispute evidence.
Economic class
One ofnone, bond, micro, standard, elevated or funded. The class describes economic semantics and is separate from the environment-specific amount.
Evidence tally
Support, reject and participation counts plus status and finalization state for an evidence item.Explorer
The Blockscout-based chain interface plus PressChain-specific semantic views for protocol records.Finalization
A protocol transition that closes an evidence decision according to the active finalization rule. Finalization is not equivalent to proving a real-world statement true.Funded action
An action that carries or escrows value for the operation itself, such as bounty creation.Indexer
Independent infrastructure that projects authoritative chain state into query-friendly storage. An indexer can enrich data but does not replace protocol authority.Mainnet readiness gate
A required condition that must be satisfied before approved mainnet launch, including protocol, PressKey, Explorer, SDK, Feed Intelligence, economy, security and rehearsal requirements.Metadata hash
A commitment to canonical Capsule metadata bytes.Official evidence
Evidence attached through the canonical privileged path by an actor satisfying the required role, bond and Capsule relationship or administrative authority.Outlet
The organizational publishing context associated with a Capsule. Outlet authority is distinct from generic protocol role.PRESS
The native PressChain economic asset used for bonds, fees, funded actions, rewards and treasury policy. Current balances are testnet-only.PressKey
The browser-native PressChain identity and signing surface exposed throughwindow.presschain in the current extension.
Projection
A read-optimized representation derived from canonical chain data. Search documents, API records and Explorer semantic views are projections.Protocol role
One of the canonical V3 role IDs: Reader, Author, Journalist, Editor or Validator.Provenance
The identity, source, relationship, hash and historical context that explains where a record came from and how it changed.Recovery epoch
An authority marker used to distinguish the currently recovered canonical V3 environment from historical deployment state. Current value is1.
